Another Day To Juggle

juggling the calendarThe day started out normal enough.  Alarm at 5:30, wake up 12.5 at 6.  By 6:10, all bets were off.  A two-hour delayed start for school and I’m left with another day to juggle things around.

The two-hour delay means 12.5’s 7AM bus is nine and 10.0’s 8AM bus is 10.  There goes my physical therapy at 7:30, likely out is my 9AM staff call (or at least it won’t be as easy to manage today).

I don’t think these kinds of juggling acts are unique to a single parent household, but for the single parent there is not a lot of flexibility to make changes and still keep appointments and other commitments.  There has to be sacrifice.

So, out come the chain saws for today’s juggling act and up in the air goes a lot of the plans.  While the plows clear the streets I’ve already left a message at PT, an email sent out to folks about today’s call, texts to the folks involved with the morning plans to recalibrate.

Up next, it’s the weekend.
